Our mission is to help protect Oldham County's natural resources by working hand in hand with government agencies, industry, schools, businesses, and individual landowners. We face many challenges today, and lessons of the past show us that people working together can solve almost any problem.

Live Stakes

Live Stakes are an inexpensive and simple technique to improve riparian buffers. Live stakes (stem cuttings) will eventually grow into new trees and are an effective way to establish a root network in the stream banks which helps prevent further soil loss.

Nature-Based Solutions Cost-Share Program

Through a grant from the US EPA through the Kentucky Division of Water, a cost-share program is being offered for stormwater management projects that incorporate Nature Based Solutions (NBS) to eligible landowners in the Currys Fork Watershed.  Projects may include, but are not limited to the following:  rain barrels, rain garden, pollinator/native-species plantings, live stakes, riparian buffer improvements, bioswales, permeable pavers, or other projects using nature to absorb and retain stormwater. Kentucky Watershed Watch 

Volunteers can learn how to sample their stream to better understand the chemical, bacteriological, habitat and biological conditions of their chosen stream or streams.

Monthly Meetings

Our Board of Supervisors usually meets the 3rd Wednesday of each Month at 6:30 A.M. at the conservation office.

Members of the public are welcome, and encouraged to attend.
