Oldham County Watersheds

Oldham County Fiscal Court and Oldham County Conservation District partner with federal, state, and local organizations to restore and protect watersheds. Current priorities are septic system education, conservation easements, and stormwater basin retrofits. Future hopes include expanding our work to implement more nature-based solutions.

Past funding for watershed projects in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District has come largely from EPA 319(h) grants, State Revolving Funds (SRF), and USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) with matching funds from local sources. Every year, watershed needs greatly outpace available funding.

Watershed Plans

The Oldham County Conservation District partners with Oldham County Fiscal Court to implement the Currys Fork Watershed Plan. Future work in Oldham County includes dusting off the Darby Creek Watershed Plan and completing the Harrods Creek Watershed Plan.
